Well I supposedly just bought a 460..it looks kinda like my 351M a little bit (I hope I didn't buy another 351M...gr).
I got these numbers and letter on the back on the block
7Y942909
So, any idea if this is a 460?
-
Thats not the right number.. The number your looking for starts with a letter either C, D, E.
-
DIVE-6015-A2B
-
I've never seen a casting number like that before. The engine casting number is on the passenger side of the block right behind the starter.
-
Richard beat me to it. I think its a D1 at the beginning which means its from a 1971, I'm searching for what everything means though for you.
-
7Y942909 is on the rear of the engine on the driverside.
That other number I gave you was on the right side under the intake manifold.
Thanks for helping me. I tried to look but I couldnt find much. I registered on 460 Ford to see if they know but I cant post on that yet.
-
BTW it is D1. Thought it was a I. lol.
-
D = 70's
1 = 1971
V = Lincoln
E = Engine engineering department
6015 = Engine Block
-
So a 429 or 460?
I think a 460 from what I looked up
-
They use the same block I think.
-
I wonder what I need to do this swap?
Heard people say since it's a Lincoln it make need some other stuff.
