Title: Jeep YJ 4 cyl. starter mounting bolt
Post by: JT on December 07, 2009, 10:14:01 AM
While replacing my dead starter I noticed that I am missing one of the 2 bolts that are used to mount the starter motor.  Neither Autozone or Advance seem to have the replacement.  It is a male Torx head bolt, probably between 4 and 5 inches long.  Just wondering if anyone has one laying around in a parts Jeep or knows where I can find one.  Haven't hit up the local junkyard yet, trying to avoid the trip.

Try a Napa or a Fastenal and bring in the bolt that you do have so that it will be easier to match the thread pitch.

Yeah, figured NAPA might be my best chance...dont want to have to pull the bolt though as this is my daily driver and I am pretty busy up until the holidays...

May need to pick up one of these:

Then test it at home, so you can go in and tell them what you need.
