Title: Another Borken Jeep
Post by: Matt on January 08, 2010, 10:41:47 AM
So i woke up to a Borken Jeep this morning as well.

Soon as I pulled out of the drive way, I hear a loud bang. Then I start getting a poping noise as I was rolling to a stop. I turned around and put it back in the driveway. At quick glance it appears that the yoke side of the turdy 5 was soaked in gear lube. I hope that is the problem. I am saving my pennies right now. I took the commander to work. So I will see more when I get home.

The bad thing is I wasnt going to start on this for another week or so. I need some gears for it. I was waiting for some tax money. I guess I will have to roll on some 30s.

I just hope the rear is all I find broken. I not sure what would have broken, the axles are not.

Man, sorry to hear that. You have not been so lucky on that 35. Atleast you have the 44 ready!

I know what you mean. I am going to leave work soon and get started on it. I hope I have better luck with the 44.

Yes, and 35's on a 35 is just borrowed time.

Don't worry Mike, you don't need to bump it on a bypass. {toast} {hooters}

I had forgotten about my tax money for a minute. Very excite! (Borat voice)

Sorry about the headaches, but at least you get that axle out of there.   :)

Me and Daniel got the axle swapped. I need to go out there and torque everything. But from the trip around the block, I think I have some bad vibes, so I will probably be adjusting the rear uppers.

I hope. No energy yesterday to adjust the uppers but I did torque everything. It has a very bad vibe starting around 25mph. I do know the driveshaft was a tighter fit, when putting it back in. My driveline angles look good though. So I may just add about 1/4" of length to all 4 arms.  Any other ideas?

I am also in desperate need of some gears. Top speed went from about 75 down to 55.

55?? That's way too fast.  Take it easy speed racer.  Um..side note, when is a good day for some wheel stud swapping?  Possibly Saturday?

What ya doin tonight?

Probably nothing. Wanna try? I got to thinking about it last night after I'd posted that if everything goes according to plan, you'll have a baby girl this weekend. And clearly, Saturday wouldn't work. She went Tuesday right? What's the word, bird?

Probably.  Right in the middle of changing a wheel stud, we'll hear "MATT!!!!! WE NEED TO GO!!!!! NOW!!!!!!!!" Then I'll have to play wheelman, I hope.

Let's just wait until Adam tries to drive it back and then it takes a dump right in the middle of 211.  I'd laugh...pretty hard.
