trying to get some pics up but all my pics are huge! Photobucket is kicking my arse! ;D the flop was minor and I also did it on the right side as well. Just a couple of scratches... I can't complain! It was my first flop. {toast} Doug was TOO LONG, HA HA! It was all the spotters fault though. ;) I don't want to come home!!!

Right rear axle shaft bent
lots of scrapes and dings to go around
Ben broke his toe (?)
Billy lost a water pump and had to repair yesterday
Billy twisted his front driveshaft
Billy has a bent front spring
Kirk broke down and Jeep spent the night on the trail due to bad alternator

I broke too... MY FREAKIN BIG TOE! I can hardly push the clutch in now. Not sure if I will wheel anymore. Have to see in the morning. I also broke my driver mirror and buckled my left floor pan on the gate keeper. I can't complain if that is all. BUT MY TOE HURTS!! ;D

My breakdown occured on day2 on the approach to Rusty Nail. We pulled the Jeep to the side of the trail, and I rode with Doug the rest of the ride. On returning to the rig it failed to start after many tries to jump start.
Finally we decided the batteries were dead, so I took them out and drove 220 miles r/t to Grand Junction CO to find a Walmart open on Sunday night. The next morning Doug drove me back up at 5:00am. With the next batteries I was able to get back to the parking lot. Subsequently the alternator tested bad and the batteries good.
So I have had tio park the Jeep and ride shotgun in Doug's JK. Not as fun as driving, but it's great to see the trails.
Doug didn't mention it himself, but the same ride I broke another Jeep broke a D35 axle shaft at the top of Gold Bar Rim. At the same time he took me back to my rig, he took the two guys all the way back to the top to effect repairs. Props to Doug for helping above and beyond the call of duty.
And we still made it back to town to do the Moab Rim ride.

It's all good here in Moab! This is from the trail minor threat from area bfe. THAT PLACE IS THE FREAKIN BOMB! Boulders for obstacles, 6ft ledges, it has it all!

no damage at all other than making the license plate a little more wrinkled.I got lucky with my sliders holding me off the wall. It was a great ride though.

Calvin arrived today after 3 days in Arkansas after blowing a Turbo Coupler on the Powerstroke, and no dealer was open until Tuesday. Replacing with the original blew off 2 more times.
We took this am off waiting for Calvin and ran Hells Revenge this afternoon.

Billy and I ran out to moab rim at sunset. Billy broke his front right shock mount on the way out. We limped out after dark. I don't suggest trying to come down in the dark on that trail!

I know someone who ended up having to do that, and it was so dark / hard to see that they had a couple of folks with flashlights walking 50 feet in front of the jeeps the whole way down to make sure they didn't find a cliff instead of trail. Also know someone with an old rover who busted a rear brake line and ended up coming down the rim trail with the rear brakes pinched off with a vise grip. :o

it was fun but nerve racking as well. All was fine until we hit the last 90 degree turn.It has a good 3-4 ft drop on a hard turn with the cliff edge just a few ft away. My dad was skeered ;D but that was the only spot that gave us any trouble. Got a pic from the trail to the petroglyph hike at sunset that turned out pretty cool. It is an awesome place out here at dusk. GORGEOUS!

Yeah, Billy is good at twisting driveshafts into flat pancakes! ;D Looking forward to wheelin with you again Billy. We had a blast!
