The guy did some neat home fab.
He made the front and rear bumers, cage, sliders and all.
35 inch 4wd tractor wheels and tires.

What do you guys think? be honest. I like some of it some of it, but I prefer the bent exocage.
-
Tires look like axle breakers and the cage weighs more than the jeep. Hes gonna have to spend alot more money if he wants it to hold up to the extra weight and traction, not to mention the rotational mass of those tires. What do you guess the tires and wheels weigh?
-
Looks like a death trap :-X
Not digging the square tube exo. But I like the swimming pool latter hangin off the back.
I also like the tires.
-
The tires was free.I want to see the tires in action. The cage is 3/16s. The guy is experimenting with a bunch of it. Keep the input coming nobodys going to mad.
-
Looks like its ready for a african safari. {ehm}
-
I like the tires. The exo looks like it may cause the Ryan effect. Looks like a bird hunting buggy throw a school bus seat up top and go shoot some quail

{toast} The guy was just crakin jokes about doing that very thing.
I told him I wanted to flip it over in the parking lot to see if the exo would hold up. :hlp
-
Tell him to put a hot tub up top!! {hooters} & ()()
-
are those bobcat tires? {ehm} i wanna see a video of a corner at 25mph. do like how far away the exo is from the body. like the sliders tho.
-
Super top heavy. Add some outriggers and it'll be fine!
-
Well, I don't like exos to begin with since they typically stick out from the body a bit. That thing sticks like a foot!
-
holy $HIT!!!! .. {ehm} , those tires are heavy as hell i bet, and hard as rocks, but do look sweet, but as far as those I-beams go, looks as if he was starting the frame work for a highrise, {no} on the square exo....
-
If he's going for looks, he didn't get it. If he's going for rigidity, he may be there. Roll it and see what happens. As for the tractor tires, tall and skinny will get you through the mud and those sloppy fields, but around rocks, forget it.

Picture this, both tires on the same axle are spinning wildy, say the right one gets ahold of some good traction. What do you thinks gonna happen to that lil ole axle shaft or the locker / Differential from the weight of that 200 lb skidder tire that is still running 30 mph? Grenade!!!

Same thing that happens on any axle shaft when this happens, something is going to give........

You are right but, a 200 lb tractor tire will break an axle a heck of alot easier than a 70 lb a/t.
-
yeah but this guy may not be a trail rider or rock crawler.... If he is then I hope he has spares. I think this would be a great hunting vehicle.
-
I have a friend that ran a set of ditch witch tires on a full size ford bronco. Yeah they looked cool. But it snapped axles everytime he took it out.
-
Mixed feelings on it Larry, not real fond of square tube as everyone else pretty much stated, but if in it's a hunting rig and not doing anything technical I guess it would work out. Maybe he could add a swing out/up arm with a boat winch and gambrel to clean and raise deer to the roof rack.
Yea tractor tires will snap some axles, we watched an XJ on tractor tires at Rices Creek, they get great traction but lots of snaps.
-

Aren't they solid rubber and weigh about 400#'s a piece?
-
The tires he is running uses air.

No they were 15 inch x 33 or 35 i cant remember but he had them mounted on regular bart wheels.

I want to go on Safari now! {bruce}
It's really not my style and seems like a lot of weight up top, but I can definitely appreciate the work he's put in it.
-
Looks so much better {toast}

no triangulation anywhere on the entire exo. It would crunch in any semi intense flop.
looks like a nice expedition rig though
