Title: Mountainside this weekend
Post by: Trucker on September 19, 2010, 07:17:10 PM
I am new to this forum but hopefully some of you might wanna come.

I have rented the park for the weekend. Sept.24th through Sept.26th

I have heard a lot of ppl say that they can not make a ride because of the economy, so this is a ride that you can come to for FREE.  If you want to donate a little to ride, I will not decline however it is NOT mandatory by any means.

I will get to the park at or before 1pm on Friday and will camp all weekend.  It is primitive camping so be prepared.

You can camp and wheel all weekend and we can night ride there.  All it would cost ya is gas, food, and drinks to come.  I figure you would eat the food and drink the drinks anyways so really it will just cost you gas.

So not really a lot of excuses since you prolly can find enough change around the house to get you there.  I know this is short notice but it is what it is.

You will have fun even if you are the only stock rig there.  You can get to all the obstacles and watch us hit them.  Then decide if you wanna try something.  At this point I don't think there will be a lot of rigs because of the short notice but if I can afford to do this next year I will post a lot earlier.

Sorry, my group is out.  Bman and his family just got back from a loooong weekend at Jekyl and I really need to keep working on my rig.  I've pulled the steering box, lines, seats, and disconnected the column.  I need to put it all back together.

Mountainside is very stocker friendly and Scott and his wife are very cool.

Here is my rig dragging its big butt around the park.  My son and I both drove.  It is only two inch springs with 31s.

You probably wouldnt have much fun without it. I would say its necessary for any park even though you may not need it.

Ok guys I will be there by noon central time tomorrow.  Saturday I will keep the gates open til about 11am then they will be closed but not locked.  Come if you can.  Sunday I will open them back up at 8 or so then close them again at 11am.  Larry if you get there before 8 on Sunday just open the gates and come on up to the camping area.

Don't go to MSORP with out 4 wheel drive. You won't be able to get up the mountain and you will just make a long day for the kind folks that are letting you ride.

Yup that is Gary's YJ.  And I am not sure that the trail had a name.  I got stuck at the top and had to back down.  There are 3 ledges at the top that are just really bad for my wheelbase at 112".  The ledges are not really huge but they are just spaced bad and I just was digging holes. LOL
