Title: DurhamTown Advice
Post by: cru9 on December 29, 2010, 09:41:22 PM
Can somebody tell me about Durhamtown trails? Are they tight or wide? Are there different trail for different skill levels? I want to bring my new Jeep but not ready to scratch it up. If there tight I will bring my TJ

There are a lot of wide trails, but a few narrow ones as well.

sure there are lots of wide trails on the new park.. there are some that arent so wide.. we cut them with a dozer.. so the trails are about as wide as the blade... for the most part 99% of the trails you dont have to worry about scratches from trees... you might get some from the rocks or from the mud that you get on your Jeep... come out this weekend I will be more then happy to show you around... just ask for Mike D.. and bring your TJ or JK.. doesnt matter.. I will have my JK there..

GATR is riding in AL on the 15th, but there are a lot of other groups going to DT I hear.

Our February ride will be at DT.

no it is not a club ride... just an open invite for those that are not going to AL ...

I'll keep that in mind if Morris Mountain gets rained out. Weather looks good for now...but if the forecast turns ugly close to the day of, might need to call an audible!

Last January that's exactly what happened.  Rain in AL and a bunch headed to DT.  Eventually rained there too.

Mike, where are those pictures of you guys trying to cross the flooding creek?

I know where there are several tons of natural rock in Macon. Not sure how much it would cost to move it but its behind my work where they graded the property. I can talk to the owner and see if he wants it "out of his way" I will get it in writing if you want it. Its several large rocks about 30yrds wide and 100yrds long and about 10' high.
