OK all you smart guys.... can any tell me where it says in the GA or GOV law that flares and mudflaps are requirement. MPs here just told me that I need to get some. I have talked to GSP and local LEOs back in Augusta and none of them ever said crap to me about it. I never been stopped on post for not having them till today.. I didnt get a ticket nor a written warning but was told that I need to get some soon. Anyone know where I can get some info

http://liftlaws.com/georgia_lift_laws.htm
It lists the applicable Georgia Code on the right hand side.
-
Yeah, usually a requirement in most states. They don't want you throwing debris at vehicles behind you.....

And this says that fenders and mud flaps are only required on commercial vehicles.

Does GA law even apply on a Base? Federal property may have more stringent rules.

Ooopps, I forgot he was in the Air force.
-
...run it up your chain of command...
-
In the private sector I have done extensive work on Military bases and know that federal property and the laws within can be what ever the gov't wants. I had a friend get a ticket for talking on his work phone and driving, on the base it has to be hands free. $50 federal ticket. I would play it safe and obey the laws. That is my 2 cents/sense.

LOL, I could pulled over for riding around without doors on once. Cop gave me a warning but said next time he'd give me a ticket for a code violation. I asked what the code was so I could look it up. He said "I don't know", since he wasn't coming up with a reason to give me a ticket, I kept my mouth shut, but I wanted to say "kinda hard to write a code violation if you don't know the code?"

Last I remember the mudflap laws are only a requirement for Commercial vehicles, which I would think that on a base you would probably have to, but yeah check w/ the higher ups on that one.

don't know about those army bases, but on the air force base i would be looking up reg's, and talking to my commander/first shirt. nothing in black and white, i'm sure my commander and shirt would have a talk with Security Forces Commander.
laws are much different on base versus off, i can buy beer on Sundays.
