I am looking for a new TV, anyone know where to find a good deal!?!?
-
Brandsmart or Walmart
-
Frys has incrible deals if u catch them in the store. Just have to check.
I recomend LG or Samsung.
I found the best price on my LG 55 at, well surprise, Sears online so search everyday.
We are loving our Google TV setup.
-
I walked around Bestbuy for an hour looking at tv's & couldn't find anything worth buying or atleast for a decent price! But I did leave with Google TV!
Got it hooked up and started watching it in about 25 min. easy install and setup! The biggest difference between Google TV and a smart TV is that you can browse the full internet, check email, etc. You can also use Netflix, Youtube, and all the other apps!! By far the coolest "gadget" I've messed with!!
I'm actually typing this on my living room TV!! Highly recommended!! {cheers2}

Costco has always had some great deals
-
II always try to buy last years hot electronics and save a bundle.
If you are looking for 3d and LCD you'll have to pay to get it.
If u just want a flat LED 1080P with 240 or faster refresh you can find some good deals. But stay away from the off brands and 720 screens.
Let us know what you find.

bought a 55in LCD from Wal Mart for 1500.. it was a Samsung.. they wanted 2300 but i got a manager and she worked with me on it..
oh and by the way i bought it last yr so that is why it seems the price was so high...
-
Ouch, man you got beat for that price. {spank}

You get what you pay for! Usually on the cheaper TV's you will get a checker board effect when things start moving real fast. Watch an action movie during an explosion and you will see it. Sometimes you will see squares when it happens or the colors may even change a little bit, you will see more black than color. Also the cheaper TV's will have a slower refresh rate (which is what causes the checker board effect) and less viewing angle on the screen. And all of this is effected by the size of the TV itself. Obviously, the bigger the screen the more noticeable things are.
-
Understood. I know I am happy with my 42" 720. Going from any regular tv is a HUGE improvement. And when it comes to TV's, bigger is better! I just want a 55-60" and I will be happy. Now an 80" would be nice too...
-
Need a massive room for best viewing of an 80".
You can have a TV that's too big for the room.
55" is 5.5 feet x 2 or 11 feet. Just a simple way to look at it.
-
That would be perfect for my living room :hlp
-
Maybe I'm still a little old school. Anything over 60" I would probably go to projector.
-
Anybody else remember WebTV? The internet service that you connected to your TV? I just find it really funny that they went out of business but now here comes all these smart TVs, Google, and Apple with the same exact thing. All that has changed is the content on the web and the speed but apparently it's worth it.

I have a 55 in Sharp Aquos in the living room 1080p 240 hz refresh, cost 1800.00 at brandsmart and that was with a 5 year warranty and surround sound system. Got it last year during their presidents day sale. Not a bad tv at all, I have the 42in version in the bedroom and is also a great tv.
-
Stay away from Sony Bravia. We bought our 46" LCD 3-4 years ago and it has already developed a line on the screen when its cool. Makes me mad as we paid $1600 for a name brand and its shit!
-
I bought some off brand HD TV's for the lake, but at home it's
SONY or LG ONLY
-
Samsung all the way.
-
I have always bought Sony/Samsung, but the new one on the wall is a Sharp(since it was the only brand available in that size)
