I have a T-Max 9000# winch minus the solenoids.  It will work with any Warn solenoid box.  $100.  No rope or fairlead.

why warn? Plenty of other winches that are better and cheaper!

I use a winch multiple times a month.

I have broken multiple brand winches. The only two that have ever stood up were a electric warn and a hydraulic mile marker.

Ramsey - clutch , motor stud / Tmax - motor / Electric Mile Marker - case, clutch, hold brake / smitty - solenoid box x 2,  have all failed under heavy use. If a winch was being purchased for every now and then use or for a display item, they would be perfect.

I would rather spend $500 on a used warn than $400 on a new one that I dont trust.

Well, I have nothing against Warn by any means. I just think they are overpriced. Now if I did have unlimited funds, I would have this bad boy on my bumper and never look back. http://www.warn.com/blog/2011/03/02/the_history_of_the_warn_m8274_winch.shtml What do you use the winch for that many times a month that would kill as many as you have? Just curious as to how you can kill that many ;D

I've had my Warn for about 8 yrs. and put it through hell! It has never let me down. When I flipped my XJ, I hooked it to a tree from the front and had a winch pulling from the rear - when the winches started pulling, my XJ lifted completely off the ground. JRolin's winch broke and my Warn never even slowed down!!  </ARMATA/>
