GrayRock will be closing for open/public events after the Fall For All Ride in October.
This is due to an unrealistic increase in insurance premiums. He said the park will be available for rent for private events, as he can insure those.

{WTF1}
so what park is next? Might as well put street tires on the jeep

Don't say that Ben....We are running out of parks
-
that is my point. Soon we will have nothing left close to us. Just tired of all this crap. Tellico set the bar and now everyone else is falling out.
-
I know what you mean...I hate we lost Mountain Side...the parks are getting farther and farther away to drive to for weekned rides
-
I guess I should get an adventure trailer and all terrains and explore the mountains... No need for a tow pig at this rate!

I am good with renting it out and having private rides. Better than it being closed for good.
-
Curious how much private events will be if he has to insure each one?

I agree. Plus there are plenty of parks left.

They require a $200 deposit. And pretty much a $750 minimum. $75 per
vehicle or more if less than 10 vehicles. That covers porta john rental
and Thursday - Saturday ride time. Has to be booked in advance.
-
Wow!!!
-
Holy crap if thats what it would cost to go wheelin I would never get to go. I wonder if there are things they can do to make the insurance cheaper hell its probably like car insurance they ripe ya off every chance they can.
-
75 for 4 days aint bad if you can go for 4 days at a time. Less than $20 a day. Most parks charge way more than that.
-
Sounds reasonable to me. The more rigs, the lower the cost per rig. Road trip!

Even at 3 days the more rigs wouldn't be to bad.

I think it's 3 days, not 4. If you can get 10 rigs to commit to 3 days and spread the cost $25 a day is on par with, or cheaper than, some ORV parks in the south who charge a daily fee, passenger fee and camping fee.

Raises a good question... Camping? Porta Johns, so I guess no showers.
-
Weird didnt notice the Saturday as most places are open all weekend. Still not to bad.
-
But if you rent the park. You can night ride.
850 to rent up to ten rigs. So it is 85 a rig.

My only issue would be the Thur/Fri part. I usually dont take time off to wheel unless its Harlan. Guess I would have to look at the park more to decide if it would be worth having to beg for annual leave approval
