Title: Rockfest at the GAP-August 24-26 in Auburn, AL
Post by: DOUG on August 03, 2012, 08:07:53 AM
Sounds like fun, and the folks know how to build obstacles.  I wish Durhamtown would do this on his natural terrain.

Rockfest at The Great American Park (GAP) will be Friday, August 24 till Sunday, August 26. A great weekend of rockcrawling, mud riding, camping, and 2 concerts!

The bands will be:
The Haywire Band from Columbus, GA on Friday night and The Cold Hard Truth from Tennessee on Saturday night

John has been adding rock trails like crazy since the last event in July. There have been 7 dump trucks hauling rock and some dirt to the park for 8 hours a day for 2 weeks. He has used a lot of this rock but there are still piles and piles of rocks to be used. Most of the new rock trails are finished, but a couple are ongoing. Here's a few pics of some new stuff:

Admission is $30 per adult, $15 for children ages 7-11, and children 6 and under are free. This covers you for the entire weekend for everything-all kinds of riding (rocks, mud, etc) on whatever kind of vehicle you bring, and camping, and 2 concerts-it's all included in the one price.

//monk// Looks like fun!!! Our December ride is at GAP!

I would like to make this event. We need as many people out riding and making it to the events as possible.

It's just like voting - if you don't vote, you can't complain about the outcome!

If you don't support the local off-road parks, you can't complain when they close down!

If you look at the bottom of wall at the big dirt lip nobody in a regular trail rig will hit that very fast. That is having the Rock Rods hitting it this weekend. Might make for some good video. They said the might even add water from water truck.

Water would make that an absolute freak show.

Would be fun to watch some HP hit that thing.
