I got to beable to take my jeep to work after I go out? if not, I cant come home, cause my wife will KILL me if i roll it. :'( http://www.gatrailriders.com/GTRForums/index.php?topic=4617.0 (http://www.gatrailriders.com/GTRForums/index.php?topic=4617.0)
now i know some of those jeeps are really modified. but one thing i noticed, not many guys wearing seat belts. fyi. i will have mine on. ALL the time. {salute} on one a guys even fell out the the rig rolled over him. Ouch! {no}
I hope to do some, but alot of those rocks, are really really big. I hope those are advanced trails. ???

Yes. Most of those videos are the extreme of the extreme. There are trails like that where we go.... but you are not required or expected to them. Wheel what you feel comfortable for. No one will judge you based on the trails you do or do not do.
We all wear seatbelts at all times!
-
We all feel the same way, and YOU always decide what you want to do and when.
If you want to try something, and want a spotter, just ask any of us. Be aware, some are better than others, and you want someone with experience.
As you begin, a spotter is extremely valuable, and over time you will read lines better. Even the best need a spotter from time to time. They are your eyes on the ground for what you can't see. Have a spotter you trust.
No one here will nag you to do something, and make you feel peer pressure. Everyone highly respects each persons personal decisions.
If we see you doing something we don't think you should, we will speak up, but it is OK for you to say you know the danger, and proceed. Don't take it as an insult, or that you have anything to prove. We all want our rigs to be the same when we leave as when we arrived.
Larry, now that's a different story! ;D

Also dont feel that there isnt enough for you to do. As every park has plenty of trails for a stock vehicle. Almost every obstacle has a bypass where you can roll smoothly to the top and watch the big boys play. Also we have lots of folks that are new just like you on each ride that will be right there with you. Dont feel pressured, have fun watch and ride along with some others and cruise the more moderate trails. Youtube videos are only going to show the bigger obstacles, thats what makes people bring out the cameras. Also there are some stupid people out there. Please wear your seat belt at all times, save your alcohol for the camp fire. We dont want to have any get hurt at one our rides.

ok, i understand. like i said, i want to have some of that. "butt tighten moments" but, nothing so bad i cant make it to work the nxt day. so I'm more app to stay with the easier stuff
i know alot of this is getting a feel for what i can and cant do, hopefully the more i venture out with you guys the more i can do. knowledge of How to ride seems to be more important
and i plan on pulling from you guys. alot. I don't mind , scratches, maybe dents, blah blah. to me, those are badges of honor.. (my wife would disagree).
thanks again for the updates, just want to let u guys know I'm prob. pretty boring compared to the rockercrawler crowed.
yep, seat belt always on., and beer or any adult beverage and driving do not mix, plus if I'm not mistaken, this is the Pickens SHERIFF'S jeepfest, I'm sure law enforcement will be there, someplace. and I'm pretty sure that offroading and drinking don't mix either. {no}

You will be surprised at how many people actually drink and drive the trails {no} It's never been a problem with this group though, so your in good hands {cheers2}

There is law enforcement at most of our rides...

A man's got to know his limitations!
everyone has pretty much hit the nail on the head.... do what you feel is comfortable, sometimes a little less comfortable to see what your rig is capable of... a trusted spotter is always a great thing! and hopefully you wont get any body damage... breakage is always a possibility on the trails.
just remember to keep calm and have fun and enjoy the scenery
-
There are bypasses and easy trails everywhere we go... and no shame in turning around in this group. Keep it fun!

So, theres an obstacle course, i guess its for the big boys, and they say there are trail rides which is what I'm looking for.
does anyone know for sure, on the trail rides, do we go on real trails, its not man made like the obstacle course? i like being in the woods , also. if weather is nice which it appears to be looking that way,
can i go with my doors OFF also? or would it be better to leave them on for protection , ? I have a spidershade cover for the sun, and bird pooing .. lol which i will have, but wanted to know about
the doors. also,
since I'm stock.. no lift, but 33" tires, should i just stick with the beginner or could i go intermediate and maybe bypass stuff that's too hard?

Take doors off and top down. Less area to get damaged {peek}
I think the trails were cut by man, but will be in the woods. There are some easy obstacles on the course as well.
When do we sign up for the trail rides Saturday, and is there a time slot we are trying to get in?
-
Stop pulling this guys leg, all those videos are of the bypass trails.

The trail rides are real trails, in the woods.
The obstacle course area will have courses of varying degrees of difficulty, you can choose your sections and there will be plenty of folks there to spot and help.
