Title: Things you see while offroading
Post by: jkDave on September 26, 2012, 07:57:46 PM
I decided to go ride the service roads in Dawson Forest tonight, and took a rarely opened road towards the Etowah River (I guess it was open for hunter access).  About three miles in, I rounded a bend to see a small black bear by the side of the road.  He was maybe 100 pounds, and ran off pretty quickly.  Couldn't grab the phone quickly enough to get a picture.  I really didn't expect to see a bear tonight.  Made me wonder what some of the wildest this y'all had seen while out riding.

Never seen a bear in the woods in NGA. Have heard a bigfoot... NOT! Never seen anything crazy, but have heard some strange things at night. Always carry a gun in the wilderness ;D

I have wanted to ride Dawson Forest for years now! Never made it out there because I'm not street legal. That will be fixed soon!!
On another note I did see a couple doing "business" in the woods a few years back  </LMAO/>

There's not a lot of obstacle type roads here, although there's a river crossing that can be iffy if the water's up.

The old nuclear stuff can be interesting to look at.

Few years back, in NC as we where going through some trails around dusk. A dude in whitey tightieys was walking up the trail. He was completley hammered, when we stopped to ask WTF was going on... he replied with "I lost my group and my truck is stuck" but it was in the biggest redneck jibberjabber I have ever herd. Needless to say we followed him as he walked in his whitey tightieys for a good 1/2 mile to a completely berried stock 2wd s10 pickup. I had a Tow strap on the front bumper which he attached to the bumper of his truck... ripped that right off. He comes back and goes "hey no big deal let me tie it somewhere else" again in some crazy jibberjabber. We get him pulled out and go about our marry way, when we come across a huge group of people, every single one of them where in whitey tightieys... craziest moment ever!

THE END!

 WTF

I have seen black bear once while driving some forest roads around lake conasauga. Couldn't tell you which road but it was one the 4x4 marked trails that I never put my jeep in 4wd to go on. Didn't look very used at all.
