Got home from work tonight and my wife said “hey, what's up this weekend … want to go for a jeep ride” and like any red blooded jeep owner I said “hell yeah”. I immediately called the Blue Ridge Ranger Station and the recorded message says they're open. So … me and my wife and 3 kids + the dog will be @ Beasley tomorrow for a little day trip. We have a pet friendly room at the Best Western in Blairsville for Saturday night. Not sure exactly when we will arrive, but I hope to be there sometime around noon. I plan to ride for a few hours and then chill with the family. If anyone is in the area and wants to hook up, call me on my cell tomorrow or hit me up on channel 7 at the park.

I'm heading to Athens for the football game. You guys have fun, ride safe.

Go Dawgs! I hope they get some good practice in tomorrow. Have fun!
PS - how much longer you gotta wear that Fleur-de-lis?

The family had a nice day @ Beasley. It was pretty uneventful except for the guy who dumped his 4-wheeler down the mountain at the top of 93-C . The rider was not hurt but the 4-wheeler handlebars were broken. Getting him up the mountain was nothing a jeep winch couldn't fix.

If it wasn't for a fallen tree, the 4-wheeler would have rolled another hundred feet down the hill.

We passed these guys a few times earlier in the day and they didn't seem too friendly. You know the type .. "what are these jeepers doing on our 4-wheeler land".

But they were plenty friendly when I saved them a $200 recovery fee. Another good deed by the jeep crowd and I had on my GATR shirt (doing my part). </ROCKIN/>

Good Job Kevin....How were the trails? Dry /Wet
Trails were perfect. Dry, but enough recent water to keep everything dust-free. We didn't do 93-B or 93-F since we were solo, but I look forward to a future club event up here. The 93-F (hill climb) looks challenging. Has anyone done that before? It looked pretty steep and was covered with leaves like nobody had climbed it recently.

We have. You would have done fine in that beast.
Wish you would have eased up 93B and taken a look.
