Jeep trouble while on the road.

I had to come up to Kentucky today and Tuesday to program a controller on one of the excavators for a dealer. When I stopped for gas just north of Nashville I heard a very distinct grinding rattle coming from under the hood.
I popped the hood and sure enough the AC compressor bearing is going out. I still had another 100 miles to go to get to the dealers shop. I decided to chance it and continued on. I made it without any more issues and the service manager here called around to see if one of the parts stores had one. No joy there either. The best we could do is have one ordered in for $250.
I should have it by 10 or 10:30 so I should have the new one on by lunch or shortly after. Hoping to be back on the road heading home by 1300-1400.
Man I miss the days when you could have just taken the belt off and kept on trucking. At least i have a shop to work in up here and they are letting me use their AC equipment to do this.

Just a few.
Made quite a few trips up to Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, & Kentucky since early last summer.

That's what happened to my truck last January. I barely made it home before it locked up.
