here we go...
yesterday i noticed a post on facebook about the folks at Rugged Ridge needing a 2-door jk to help them fit a new soft top they're planning on getting on the market here pretty soon. So, of course i sent them a message and picture (showing off my rugged ridge XHD bumper, i think i may have got some brownie points) and told em i'd be more than willing to help.
They instantly responded with a phone number that i called and got all the information i needed on where and when to meet them.
They said they'd been wanting to get a 2-door jk soft top out on the market because the jk's are getting older and the demand for them is gonna begin increasing here pretty soon.
that brings us to today...
I made the trip up to Suwanee, GA and met the guys around 11. They took my factory soft top off and brought out their first attempt at a soft top for a jk. It looked great!! dark tinted windows, and super clean (a dramatic change from my old wore out and torn factory top).
they put it on my jeep, took some measurement, and everything seemed to line up pretty good, just a few minor flaws with the rear window (easily fixed by my brother in law whose family owns a upholstery shop here in warner robins). It was just a little slack.
After they were done i got the news that i could keep the "prototype" free of charge!! This made my day
The guys there were awesome and just a great group of people, and very open to opinions, and willing to listen to what i believed the customer would benefit from.
not to mention they were also willing to show me around their toys alittle bit, i was like a kid in the candy store. especially when i laid eyes on their SEMA jeep!!
but anyways heres a pretty terrible pic of the new top, pretty much exactly the same as stock, but with the tint and more owner friendly zippers haha
