Remote Cabins - any ideas
« on: December 29, 2008, 02:16:16 PM »
All,

I am looking for a "remote" cabin to get away for a week or so.  Looking for a place to get away, do some quiet reflecting...
I have been in contact with some people out west, but have decided it would be better to stay here in the east.  Some of my "requirements":
1.  Has to be pet friendly - will most likely have my dog (not that smart to stay somewhere remote and not have an "early warning system" - also doubles as first line of defense)
2.  Fireplace - real fireplace - want to chop wood (or have wood there) - use the fireplace for heating
3.  Would prefer to have a place in the mountains (helps to ensure cooler temps)
4.  Size does not have to be large - will most likely be just me and my dog
5.  Will have to be accessible by stock JK

That is a start - anyone have any ideas???

Tellico cabins. Trails close on the 1st so no travel really down the road.
I've grown tired of this.

We stayed at a cabin that timber tops owns its right outside of pigon forge but there was no traffic on the mountain and it was very peaceful.

Sounds like you are looking for a place in the Smokies. Go somewhere in Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, or Sevierville in East Tennessee and you will find exactly what you are looking for. The cabins will be about 3 to 4 hours away from Atlanta depending on which way you go. Finding a place that allows pets will be the hardest to find up there but it still isn't that hard to find.
