She's home ! A JKU story.
« on: April 11, 2014, 07:52:27 AM »
After popping out of gear I took no time to get it repaired under warranty. Thanks to the boys at Greene Ford.

After a new first gear and synchro, she is home and looking good.

As soon as I rolled in I placed the mopar mud floor mats.

I am now looking for a spot for the Cobra 29 LX. I have the rugged ridge accessory tray so on top of the stereo is out. Maybe cut the glove box? Thoughts ?

Mine sits in the Rugged Ridge tray. I love it.

I mounted mine overhead.  It is easy to access, hear and is out of the way.

Real, real easy and cheap.
1.  Take the top down and measure the width of your interior from the top of roll bar to top of roll bar, at the location where the hard top freedom panels have a small peg that fits down in the roll bar tube
2.  Go to HD or Lowes and by some 1X1 steel stock the length you need
3.  Trim it to the exact length and cut out some "ears" on each end so the steel stock fits on top of the roll bar tube.
4.  Attach it with a selt tapping screw or you can put it right in the location of the hold in the roll bar tube if you are not using a hard top and use a bolt.
5.  once you have everything fitted, take it off and paint it, screw on your CB mount and your done

This was a very sturdy mount.

bad pics but it should help you a little

Probably annoying for a passenger.

That's putting your speaker inside the glovebox

Both valid points.

Passenger = wife, she's married to me, she puts up with worse.

Speaker = external?

I like the idea of putting it into the rugged ridge tray but my large tray is missing.

I just called omix Ada/rugged ridge to see of they can find me the large accessory tray for the dash kit. If so it will be installed there.
