Changing front brake pads on my truck last weekend (90 k1500)
I took off the two bolts holding the caliper on and and it slid right off the rotor as it should (drivers side). Took cap off of fluid resivor, compressed piston with c clamp. Put new pads on, tried to slide in place. I had to wack it with a hammer to get it in place. Piston is compressed as far as I can get it to go in. With it in place I can't turn the wheel by hand. It's like the pads are to thick . Passenger side went in just fine.
I drove a couple miles on it, doesn't pull to right, you can smell it burning and it smokes it makes my wheel very hot.
Any suggestions? Will it wear to normal? Should the piston be flush? ( it's about 1/8" out, but I can't get it in any further..
Thanks
