My 1998 Sahara 4.0L 5 speed only had a Dana35 in the rear and Low Pinion 30 in the front.

I think the D44 comment was to make sure the Rubicon would have it.

According to Fourwheeler magazine, "the Dana 44 with 30-spline shafts was available on six-cylinder Sahara and some Wrangler X trim levels". Not sure what the truth to this is, but i'll be sure to check it out and see which rear end it has.

They started putting them in the TJ in '98. I'm guessing that Clarks is a early production model.
When I got my 97 I automatically thought it had a 44 because it was a Sahara.
