Powder Coat or no?
« on: April 16, 2009, 08:27:43 PM »
Ok I am going to buy this bumper. They are doing discount prices because it may be discontinued so here are my 2 options. 1 is bare steel for $99.99 or powder coated for $129.99 (both + shipping). So my question is, is the powder coat worth another $30 or should i just get it bare, prime it and then rattle can it for cheaper than the $30?

If you're going to wheel it, it's going to look like mine, all scratched up, and I have to spray it.  Don't waste the money.  It will end up sprayed everywhere anyway.  Just my 2 cents.  Keep building that thing!

Key phrase there, I mean Jeremy is workin' on bein' a family man.  He ain't got no time or money to go wheelin'.  ;D

ok so I am still torn but if I decide to paint myself... what does it take? Do you prime then paint or do you just hit it with several good coats and forget the primer?

Oh and Daniel  {nln}

start a family... psshhhh meg and I don't want kids for awhile  {toast}

Anyways, the only reason I ask about the powder coat is if I don't get it and don't spend to much on paint then I can swing the stabilizer relocation bracket.

Spray it.

Come to think of it I have a rattle can of Rescue Green sitting here.  You could use that and at least have a little bit of the Jeep be the right color.  {peek}
