All this info regarding CC is great guys.

I guess there aren't that many classes out there catered to the concealed carrier so i will have to make do. The local range won't allow drawing from the holster which sucks, how else am i supposed to improve my reaction time. Any pointers on this or tactical shooting in general.

Also what ammo do you guys like for the 27, Thanks

If you are really serious, you can come down and shoot at my private range where we can do static and dynamic drills.
I would caution you DO NOT use Powr' Ball ammo by Corbon in your G27, I heard it was the shit and then tested it and can prove it tumbles and does not impact as designed past 10 - 20m.

Look into Ranger T's or PDX 1

x2 on all the past statements. I use basic ball ammo, because who wins a gunfight?....the first one who gets off the first accurate shot! If I had to choose, Hydra-shock. I have used it real world and it produces all the trauma you need.

Josh, you can practice drawing in your home. No need to have it go boom. MAKE SURE YOUR GUN IS A SAFE AND EMPTY WEAPON. Then away from everyone else and not in the direction of anything just practice drawing and getting on target and if you must, pull the trigger. I cant tell you how many times we did this drill in the academy

HHI rubicon where is your range at? My biggest problem is my work schedule on the weekends which also prohibits me from attending alot of the rides, but anyways maybe we could set something up.

I'll look into some hydra-shock's as well as some ranger T's or PDX1

For some reason i thought only LEO's could purchase hydra-shock's but I have no idea where i got that from so please correct me if that's untrue.

Also i finally got around to taking a couple pics of the guns even though you guys are well aware of what they look like.....

Very Nice! Love the pictures, nice weapons especially the 1911. That's the only other Handgun I am interested in, my shooting partner has a Kimber 1911 customized by Wilson Combat and I love the feel of it.

To be clear, I don't own the range but am a member of a private range about 30 minutes from me. 100, 200 and 300yd berms with steel torso targets that give off an audible when struck, you can even hear the 300 audible with hearing protection.
Pistol range is 25yds with poppers, then there is a tactical shoot and move pistol course.
I do not work a normal schedule so to speak so I could take you out there during the week if you can do that.
I'm not the person to instruct a formal course but if you went and took a formal course and wanted to come down and practice what you learned you are more than welcome to come out and shoot sometime.

As far as ammo, I have some hydra shok and black talons. The Ranger Ts are supposedly the new version and have tested well. The PDX 1 is OTC ammo that has performed well also. I like ball ammo because it is accurate and penetrates windshields etc BUT it can also work against you depending on what the situation is. Home defense, I won't use ball ammo because it can go through your walls and enter neighbors homes more easily than HP. All depends on what you want and what your situation is.

Anyway, nice guns. I see you have a mag extension, if it isn't +1 or 2 you are wasting space so check into that.  Wink

yeah the g27 came with the grip extension allready on it and yeah it doesn't add an extra round so i willl be looking to either replace it with a regular magazine or buy one with extra rounds not sure what i want to do yet. Maybe i could sell it and recoup some cost.

Yeah as soon as i can get some time i'm definitely game for an outdoor range. Thanks for the invite maybe we can make it work one day this month.

I went to the gun show in Norcross yesterday and they had a similar Kinber 1911 .45 with a $700 tag on it that I REALLY wanted to buy.

If you can still get it at that price and it's a new gun i would definitely pick it up you could definitely make your money back if you had to sell it.

Military 65 bucks
ID Card
figerprint
pick up same day...

oh letter from CO saying you are not facing UCMJ and havent had any for DV or Drugs..

i have read a lot saying that as long as you have a military ID you were good to go to CC in Ga.  never sounded right so i never tested it.  a buddy of mine went throught the process to get a CC, but i don't think he used his military ID to get it.  is this something that is county to county?

This is true sir. Active military are exempt from needing a firearm permit in GA to CC.

Quick flip through my code book has OCG 16-11-130 Exemptions, section 3: persons in the military service of the state or of the United States

so i guess my next question is: whats all this about, is this so i can have a little card next to my military ID?

ok one more question i want a holster for my Glock 19 something that can be put on a belt or and more import can be clipped to a waist band.  i'm wanting some thing that i can actually clip to something like my bed frame when not in use, and sort of CC.  does that make sense?
