Sure beats the A7's I use to work on and later the FA/18's (A and B models).
F/A 18 E/F (Super Hornet) and the F-35C will be the backbone of the Navy for years to come, while the AF will have this (F-35A) and the Raptor, and the Marines will have the aircraft in this video, which is the F-35B (STOVL is for the Marines). So you have 3 different variations of the F35 in total:
F-35A, conventional take off and landing (CTOL) variant for Air Force
F-35B, short-take off and vertical-landing (STOVL) variant for Marines
F-35C, carrier-based CATOBAR (CV) variant for Navy (much heavier duty landing gear for carrier ops)
Can't put a price on freedom.....it's all worth it...
