Selling this for a friend. 22ft trailer, $1950. 5 lug wheels so I think it is a 7000# weight limit. I will find out if interested.

STS Has been gone for about two years, check the brakes and axles for rust/corrosion.

With only one set of axle brakes he will most likely continue to drop the price until someone that is not going to really load it up buys it.  Even then, they won't be happy...just my opinion.

I've been back and forth over buying a Diesel and a regular trailer or an Aluminum lightweight and just pulling it with my 1500.  Can't decide.

Don't waste another second thinking about a gas truck and an aluminum trailer.  It's still heavy with a JK.  Mine is a 10,000 GVWR and together they weigh about 8000.

Go diesel if you possibly can.  Then you can pull a double to Moab. ;D

IMHO-

Ideally:
Goose (no tongue bounce)
15,000 GVWR or more (3-5000# axles, or 2-10,000# axles)
36' + deck, not a wedge up in the wind, need dually for wedge, (and now need Non-commercial Class A or B)
All tires rated at or above GVWR/# of tires.

TAG hitch with leveler rated hitch and ball, and sway shock. (Long wheel base truck better as so much is on the hitch)
14,000 GVWR 2-7,000# axles)
36' + deck

No special license needed until GVWR RATING exceeds

GA requires a non commercial CDL if you meet one of these weight configurations: (must have if rated, even if empty.  Was a big case not long ago, but the Supreme Court of GA upheld the violation even though the truck was light or not loaded.)

Class A—Any combination of vehicles with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, provided the GVWR of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.

Class B—Any single vehicle with a GVWR in excess of 26,001 pounds or any such vehicle towing a vehicle with a GVWR not in excess of 10,000 pounds.

My trucks and Excursion with 2 rigs never had a GVWR RATING over 26,000#'s, so I never needed the special license.

Either of those trailers, with two heavy JK's is going to be a minimum of 13,000 pounds and could be up to 15,000 pounds.  That is a lot of weight behind you.  I'm not sure I want that kind of hassle driving 1800 miles to Moab.

It is a big responsibility! Doug and I shared the chores twice and you have no room for error when rolling 80+

I'm with you on a Diesel for towing but when you pull 15K pounds, you better know what you are doing.

We towed to Moab 2 times (2 TJ's at about 12,000, and 1JK/1TJ at about 13,000) like that and it's no big deal with the right truck and a good driver.  We ran 80 mph a lot of the time.  Pulled the mountains without issues.  Only issue was the short bed on the 2nd trip with the JK on the front of the trailer caused the front end of the truck to be light and a bear on a bad dip/bump.  The truck lane can provide some unexpected excitement form time to time, lol.

I also towed 2 JK's (Estimated 14,800  ) to Daytona with my Excursion on a 15,000# triple axle I had.  No issues but not as good as the Duramax..
