so put the 1st one in.  555 Windrock Park Ln, Oliver Springs, TN
(865) 435-1251 ‎

i put this into google maps, and it pulled up the same map as on http://www.windrockpark.com/directions/  which is the actual. site for the park.

i guess if i key this into my TOmTom it will get me to the same place.

not sure if i get my site at the main office, and then on my way i pass the .. snack shop and get my permit and maps?

Good news.

Kent, you will come to the campground entrance first.  Set up, and then head over to the Snack Shack.

Really? after looking at google maps, as i come in on windrock road, i can take a right? which takes me toward the sites.  is the snack shack past wilderness sites, as you head into the trails?  the address pulls up the main office as on windrock road, .. see the tab below on the link marked "A"   anyway. i guess ill figure it out.  i got a jeep, ill just go over it if i have too.  lol

If you look at the Google map link I posted a few posts ago, it shows the entrance to the camp ground as B, and the parking lot at the Shack as C.

If you go to earth view/satellite view you can see the camp sites up in the woods a bit from the entrance in the clearings, and you can see the back road from the camp sites to the parking lot.

Here it is:  http://goo.gl/maps/R5VLk

I guess a place called Windrock is a good place for a windmill. I hope we get a chance to see this up close. I've been out west and seen many from the roadside but never up close.

Quote
Each wind mill located at Windrock is as tall as a 26-story building, and rises 262 feet in the air. To get an idea of just how big this is, look at the base of the windmill, and you will see a person standing there. The white blades weigh seven tons, are 135-feet-long and can be seen for miles as they slowly turn in a gentle sweep.

Yes, that is the way we will go in.

Take a look at the map of the trails I posted awhile back.  There is more than we can do in a week, so we will focus on the rocks and not the dirt roads.
