Fire extinguisher size. ( does size really matter? :-) LOL
« on: January 20, 2013, 05:21:35 PM »
Do most parks have a size requirement for fire extinguishers? Seems like 2-1/2# are the most common size holders, I. Just don't want to buy a 2-1/2# extinguisher just to find out I needed something bigger. Thanks for the info guys. Really getting excited about this upcoming season!

I am pretty sure there are no size requirements. I am running a 1 or 2 pound. Have plans of getting another one though. To mount up closer to me.

Cool. Thanks. As a firefighter I really want to have a bigger one but weight is a big issue for me also. I could probably get two 2 #'rs

I have never heard of a size requirement. The 2.5 will work just fine. More important is having it in a location that you can get to in an emergency...because if you need the fire extinguisher, it's an emergency!

I also run a 2.5, it seems to be what most run. I'm thinking about getting another though, maybe a 1LB for under the drivers seat.

I have 2x2.5lbs mounted in the Jeep.

I have a Tuffy Security Enclosure and the two are mounted on that.
