I just got home, after another Harlan "fail". Buggy worked OK on the short ride Thursday afternoon, and I parked it at the cabins. Friday morning the transmission shifter is jammed tight, //???// So I got to ride shotgun with Brent (kennisau) and Ryan the rest of the weekend. I disconnected the shifter cable from the transmission and was able to easily move the selector, so the problem is either the shifter itself or the cable. Both are pretty
Since I could shift the transmission from underneath the Jeep, I was able to get it on the trailer single-handed: shift with the motor off, get in and press the brake pedal, fire the engine, and drive until the next shift needed. Turn off the engine and repeat as needed.
Despite being a passenger, I had a good time re-learning how capable a open-open Jeep can be, esp. with good tires and spotting. Both Brent and Ryan did Mason Jar as well as a number of other technical trails as well as the rigs with lockers.
