Troubleshooting my JK
« on: December 23, 2013, 06:53:37 PM »
Anyone know what would cause the heat in my JK to only work when my foot is on the gas? When I'm at idle at a stop light, the heat blows room temperature. Once I take off the heat goes back to normal. It's a 2012 JK with the 3.6. Thanks for any insight!

Thanks guys I am going to check coolant levels when I get a chance. Just hoping It's not what these people are experiencing bc it will be at the dealer a while I am sure.

I've had vacuum leaks do that, but there was a slight decrease in pressure coming out of the vents as well

Read the JF link, ouch might not be a simple fix. The supercharger probably "caused it"

For anyone that finds this and might have a similar problem, turned out it was just a bad radiator cap. Not near as in depth as I was expecting

Damn, how did they come to that conclusion without ripping out everything and months of you returning it for repair?

Not entirely sure, they called me the day after I dropped it off and I was expecting the worse. They said it was done, and I was astonished haha. Usually dealership calls are always bad news
