ATX slab beadlock inserts came out!! Help!
« on: December 09, 2014, 05:29:12 PM »
Well this happened  //:hlp//

Does anyone have any experience with this. Spyderlock sells new thread inserts and Im almost positive Spyderlock wheels are the exact same as ATX other than the ring.

Did you over torque the bolt or something? How did it come out? I'd be calling Spyderlock asking for some spare inserts and the insert tool...

I'm surprised they are not reverse threaded.  Did you put red thread locker on the ring bolt?

No I had them powdercoated and put in some bolts my friend bought for his beadlocks to make sure no sand got in the thread. Turns out the old red powdercoat he had on the bolts acted like loktite so now im gonna go order a bunch more yay!!....

After getting in contact with ATX I was informed the inserts they use are one time use only and when I had them powdercoated they came loose so there going to send me new ones.

One time use...so any time you pull the ring off you have to put in new inserts?

No, when they were powdercoated they were baked at around 500F and tht weakened the inserts and the cheap bolts I put in the holes to keep sand out had previous powdercoat on them that acted like loktite and when I tried to undo the bolts the nutserts came with them. New inserts are on there way though
