MM Fathers Day ride, pics and stories
« on: June 20, 2015, 04:34:49 PM »
Friday afternoon and Saturday morning were killer. Dry MM rocks are soooo fun. Crawled all over the place...then the bottom dropped out. Wet rocks and mud.

Hayden and I bugged out about 1pm. Had a great time but after the sweet dry crawling I just didn't have it in me to fight the mud.

Had a great time. The park really changed in the afternoon on Sat after the rain.

Had to smoke the tires a few times but all in all we had a kickass time! Love this park!

Bad news- I didn't take a single picture on the trail today.

It was good seeing everyone out there, even though a lot took off early. This was the first time to this park for me. It rained for about 20 minutes right after we started wheeling today and I pretty much got denied on every obstacle and hit a tree. One day I will work on my driving style  //:hlp//   My truck was just meant to be a west coast wheeler I guess.

Looks like @jd30005  got one of the last pics with my front end intact. I have some body work in my future.

These pics are after I did some hasty body work in the parking lot.

Where did you hit a tree? RBD is crazy now... Anyone hit the Ugly or Copperhead?

Scott literally wasn't denied once in 7 days of Moab wheeling... Crazy how different the east coast is!

Lots of wheel speed.
only advantage to the east where the ground is softer, the longer the drivetrain and gears last. West coast can jack up 14 bolts and hell on gears.

Scott's tree was on the right-hand "bypass" of RBD; he had to gun it to bump over a rock and it threw him into the tree.

The rain made easy dry runs into hard runs.  I got sideways on Bad and had to take a strap to void a flop.  OTOH a trail like Gator became fun.

It's cool @Scott F. It's the passenger side, you'll never see it
