FWIW, I believe Kevin built some sort of shelf and tire mount in his rig, I think prior to the massive set of upgrades but it might be worth looking at his build thread for ideas.

For the building material, look at starboard or other similar poly marine materials. You work with regular woodworking tools, but it's a poly material. I've used it on several boat projects and have moved it over to some past jeep projects.

I went down that route but couldn't find any place local that carried marine grade poly-ethelene 4x8 sheets.

West marine, but it does need to be ordered. That's a bunch of change though, close to a grand. Dam that stuff has gone up in price.

I am familiar with that stuff but have no plans to use it, way to spendy.

I am looking at putting about $100 into this thing, maybe $150
