Shot placement is King but .22 is insufficient for defense.  Maybe better than a rock I guess.

Again it depends on the variables of each event, Gator hunters can take a one shot kill on some of the toughest skin around. I've seen Bear killed with 22, granted it took a few. One through the peeper and not much moves.   //;D//. It's more a personal preference and confidence with whatever one chooses. Personally I'm confident at close range with any caliber.

Hall County......I paid the $72.50
then she said $25 more when I go
to another building for finger prints.

Then it will only be $30 every 5 years. I'm going to go get the paperwork done next week.

I carried a permit for thirty years. Stopped purchasing them in 2008 when the price went up to almost a hundred dollars. They were $20 then $25, so I figured it was like everything else in the world, just about the money now. So they are now $75+25 for five years, then a renewal fee of $30?

Yes, $30 for renewal, every 5 years. I hasn't went up much over the years. 20 years ago when I first looked into it I think it was $50.  And I thought that was every 5 years.
They should offer a lifetime license like they do for hunting.

I thought they did away with renewal? When my was getting close to expectation they made me fill everything out again and pay full price. Or a least in Cherokee county they did. They told me everybody goes through full check every 5 years

What county was yours done in the first time? If you move counties, it's a complete, new permit for sure.

Not sure in if you are still in the same county.
