He said he saw fluid leaking from the front of the rear pumpkin, is it possible he just damaged thread drive shaft?

Wow...that's interesting for sure.  Some effed up angles and fluid.  Doesn't look like transmission fluid blown backwards...good!

Are you towing it to a shop or his home?  I want to see pictures of the inside of the pumpkin.  Maybe a broken pinion shaft?

I don't know if it's an optical illusion in that second picture but something really looks screwed up. It looks like pumpkin is pointing down? Looks like dif fluid is leaking

Let us now what the outcome of this is, curious myself.

yep, pinion angle looks dorked...like he has no suspension lift at all.  Had to be an optical illusion.

They pulled it apart and the pinion  and gears are destroyed. They rattled around and destroyed the housing. He may need a new axle. I talked him into calling Danny tomorrow. Post office delivered his CB this morning to add insult to injury  I am trying to get a photo.

Just saw the pics and it looks like the pinion bearing/s came apart and might have initiated the rest of the failure in the diff. Too bad to hear about the housing, ring and pinion are costly enough without having to add the complete assembly.

I am curious to know if they were factory R&P or if it had been regeared.

Inside parts shown, or just driveshaft spinning?

Sounds and looks like the angle killed the factory driveshaft joint to me, and they will grab one way, like reverse if rounded off in forward position.
