This thing is huge and 180mph+ winds. Might mess up my travel to China next week.

Maximum sustained winds were 190 mph as of 5 p.m. EDT Tuesday. This ties Typhoon Tip as the second-strongest tropical cyclone in the northwest Pacific since 1970, and makes it the strongest tropical cyclone anywhere on the globe so far in 2016.

DAMN!
I think I'd postpone the trip, just to be on the safe side.

When stationed in Japan we had a typhoon hit the island. Several us us drunks decided to have a party under this old wooden bridge next to one of the small rivers heading out. That one was only a cat 1 but the rain was still coming in sideways. We were all having a great time until we ran out of beer. Don't think we'd try that with anything stronger.
This monster is going to do a lot of damage and anyone left in it's path will have their lives in jeopardy.

Typhoons are no joke! In WWII, numerous ships were sunk or damaged and many men were killed. The typhoons greatly hindered the navy's operations.
My girlfriend is a History Professor and for part of her thesis, she interviewed WWII survivors, I went with her and helped her video the interviews. Amazing stories from these men! 94 year old Bud, joined the Navy at 17 ( with parents permission) remembers it like it was yesterday. With binoculars, from his ship, he saw the ACTUAL raising of the Flag at Iwo Jima ( the famous picture is actually a reenactment). At 22 years old, after the war, he spent several months in the hospital to " get his head straight" which is now known as PTSD.
Sorry to get off topic.
