First Aid Kits
« on: November 02, 2016, 01:08:58 PM »
We have a list of required trail riding "equipment" that should be with you when your ride...not only with the club but anywhere.

that list is here:  http://www.gatrailriders.com/GTRForums/index.php/topic,2396.0.html

One of the things on the list as recommended by not required is a  first aid kit.  I have had one in my truck and jeep since day one and you would be surprised how often I get into it...they are not just for major emergencies.  It sure is nice to have a band-aid, antiseptic, tape, scissors, etc when you are out on the trail or at camp.    I came across a pretty nice site for first aid kits of all type, kinds and sizes.  If you need a first aid kit or need to refresh the one you have, check out this site:

Here is another nice kit on Amazon, very similar to the one I keep.  They don't have to be expensive:

Nice find on that.  Better than the one I was looking at and only for $3 more.

Seriously, I bring a nurse and her "jump bag" on trail rides.

Always a good idea to have a kit in all your vehicles and wear your belt(s)

I always build my own med kits.  I have a Smitty bilt 1st Aid kit on the rollbar. I keep it stocked with the supplies I use. I would like to get a suture kit for it though.

Also, if any of you have Flex Spending Accounts with leftover budget, check to see if first aid kits are covered. They are on mine.

For ease I prefer http://www.adventuremedicalkits.com
Have a kit in each vehicle and house. You can addin all kinds of stuff if you want but gives a good solid base.

those are the best IMO as well, especially as a base
