What's the waiting period without a CC permit?
none
btw - good site for general FAQ

I haven't heard that, i thought there was a mandatory waiting period unless you had CC.  I guess they look you up and it approves or not.  Cool.

When i bought my first handgun, I was out of the store (Adventure), with a gun, in 30 minutes without a permit

I have heard worst case wait without a CC has been 3 days.  All depends on store and time of the year and your background history. I have been in plenty of stores and over heard conversations that customers had to come back but I think itís very rare.

When I first moved to Georgia in 2009 I bought a shotgun (Saiga) and 2 pistols (Glocks) before I got my GWL.  I don't remember waiting on any of them other than the time it took for them to call and get approval.  The dummy at SPD on one of them put me down as African American and I still got approved but then after when he realized it he had to rerun it so I wasted about an hour then.

With GWL there is no call/wait.

I had heard when there was a legislative scare after Connecticut and Colorado that the FBI got behind and there was some wait but I think that was just temporary due to volume.

I live ~5 blocks from Adventure Outdoors.  That's another good store to go fondle and oogle as it is huge and has a shit ton of firearms but their prices are on average 10-20% higher than Cherokee Gun and Pawn for example.  I'll go in once a month and just look around.  I do buy my Glocks there at the SPD counter through GSSF.

Big Woods range at Holly Springs will let you rent....
My first handgun (Ruger LC9s for sale) took like 15 minutes.
After CC permit it's no wait.... Cherokee is hard to beat on
guns. You can find some cheaper sometimes.
Hall county charges for permit plus finger prints = $100

I get hit with the 3 day wait every other time I buy from a FFL. I was told that they legally have to wait 3 days, if no response from the database folks, they can go ahead with the sale.
Dahlonega Gold & Pawn has everything- including special orders, $10 over cost.
