Yokohama has a long history of copying ....
Years ago I bought Yokohama Geolanders
Do they look similar to MT Baja Claws??
I never thought about it but I suppose they did a little. The Geolanders were a bit less busy except for the weird sidewall pattern. They also were not siped, iirc. They also did not have as sharp a lug shape, everything being squarish.
. I always hated that plaid-looking sidewall on the old Geolanders. that picture is funny because the old yoko's look to be mounted on a Mickey Thompson wheel there, heh...
..but they look like that and the ProComp Xtreme MT (
because those were the same company and carcass) , yeah. I think MIckey T /Cooper just got miffed that Yokohama was selling them in 38" and they sold like hotcakes
None of these are made any longer I don't think. Geez, it sure highlights how far tires have progressed in the past 10 years.
