Very nice.

Unrelated to houses, we locked in a lower rate and will be refinancing for the second time this year, now @ 2.375% for 15. I cant believe it's this low

With what bank? Were the fees bad?

I have 5 years left, paying at a 10 year payment plan but have a 15 year mortgage. Why 15 year if I pay at a 10 year level, rate was cheaper at 15 then 10.

It's also not bad to have the mandatory payment lower in case of unexpected events with jobs or health.  The amount of extra interest for a longer note, while I accelerated payments, was worth it...just in case.

Congrats...in 5 years y'all will be free.  You'll probably even beat that date as you get closer to it.

We built our house in 1992 and only went 11
years. Hadn't had a house payment since 2003.
