Solved my winch/running hot issue.....
« on: June 12, 2008, 04:20:02 PM »
...by tearing the winch and solenoid tower apart and relocating the solenoid & control.  With the full solenoid tower, my XJ was starving for airflow at speeds causing the temps to ride.  We is all good nowz.

Is it supposed to be a remote solenoid. Or did you just hook it up? {toast}

The winch came with an integrated solenoid tower from the factory and I "redid" it.  :)  Here is what it looked like before I "redid" it.

It's all up under and behind the bumper up near the top plate.

Looks good Chris, where did you put the solenoid? What was your temperature beforehand?

Funny thing is that at speeds, it would climb to about 225*.  The solenoid is under the front bumper.

wow, that looks really good... running at 225 doesn't sound good, should be much better with the relocation.

Holy crap! Mine goes to 210* and sticks there like its taped down. (210 still seems high to me coming from 5 liters though, lol).

210 is where it should be. Mine stays on 210 all the time when warmed up. Krawling, highway, all the same.
I've grown tired of this.
