Trucks
« on: December 12, 2019, 04:26:41 PM »
Does anyone make  good GAS burner these days?

I have been looking at Trucks. Mainly Tundra's 2014-2017's  I hate the gas mileage on Tundra's but my Highlander has been a solid vehicle. Except for the fact that at 205,000 it's not long for my driveway.

I've had Ford's and Chevy's in the past all 3 had transmission issues. Though the F-150 and F-250 Fit me best (long legs etc)

I am staying away from diesels. Last diesel was in the sail boat.

I love my F150 but if I had it to over again I think I'd get a SUV but I have a trailer to haul bulky stuff on.
The reason why for it is it's better suited for family trips & camping out of.
I did see a sub $10k, 4 door, 4x4, diesel F250 that had me brainstorming how to get it. Only has 150k miles.

If it's a 7.3, that f250 you have will do it with the same amount of effort, just cheaper.

150 on a diesel is just getting broken in. My Dad says they use to get 500,000 miles  out of their diesels, but they would be rattling wrecks at the end. He was a comptroller in Road construction.

The only downside is that it's a 6.0.

What is your budget?  I'm seriously looking at a Power Wagon with a 6.4 Hemi.

I really don't want to go over $21-$26,000/Used.  At this price I am finding 2011-2013's with 80-120k miles or so which  to me, is too many miles.
Everything I am finding for anything descent is $31-$32,000 (2014-2016 Tundra 40-65k miles) Apparently $33k is the national average on vehicles atm.

How much are the Power Wagon's?
I see the new Fords are offering a lot of incentive cash. ($7-10k)

There’s a GMC dealer in north Ga offering $14,000 incentive cash on the Sierra.

6.0 isn't bad. Only minor fixes and it's a good motor. Oil cooler, head gasket with stud, and delete is all it needs I think.

I've heard as long as they are not modded, a stock 6.0 is reliable. But once you start tinkering with it you really need to "bullet proof " it.
