Who has been to Moab

Might be doing a cross country trip to Yellowstone for a few days and then dropping into Moab.

Bought a book that was recommend for moab with trail info and gps coordinates.

What are the must see trails and best way to figure out trails that are close to each other? Any other useful information. Thinking about going in a few weeks.

its hot in the summer, well usually, so it should be fairly deserted. 

no left turn on metal masher was one of my favorite trails.

to me most trails were single day events, not allot of two trails in a day for me.

Or if you are real adventurous, one location on my bucket list, the Maze.

If you have the time and the camping gear, I think this would be a cool place to go.

Doug is a great resource.

For me, must see trails (some may be closed):  BFE, Pritchett's Canyon, and Behind the Rocks.  If you can get the license for it, Coyote Canyon is intense, but I think it's associated with BFE and may be shutdown.

If you're taking a Razor, I imagine Arches would be fun a hell, as well as the dunes at the end of Pritchett's.

There's one more, but I can't recall it.


I would try to connect to a local club so you have people who know the area and you're not alone out there.

Cliff Hanger is a sweet trail, amazing views

Gold Bar Rim and Rusty Nail...you can do these together and they take you to to top of a mesa and you can see all of the Moab Valley and Arches National park. 

Pritchitt Canyon probalby has the gnarliest obstacles.  Amazingly fun.  You can run it in a few hours or it could take 12 hours...all depends on how things go for you and your group.

See if you can connect with Dee McNenny on Facebook.  She and her group(Moab Friends for Wheeling) run trails all the time and they know every inch of every trail out there.

I think No Left Turn is on Rusty Nail

and the folks taking us by the Gooney Bird actually told us to ride over his toes...no idea which is right or wrong.  Haha

Dooky (andy) posted on the jl group about a fb group. I have to go look who it was. Joined fb group last night. I was reading on the jl page about trails.

I wont kill my pretty jeep but from what I'm reading I can do a lot.

I've only been once in 2017. The very first afternoon we
got started late. We did an easy trail that afternoon and
it was very scenic with great view from the top. Don't know
what is was called or anything. Then after that we did all
hard stuff. BTW we was told to run a tire over Gooney Bird
for good luck.

We had another guy that spotted us also....grey hair guy
man he was good too, he did the spotting on Coyote Canyon.
