Looking to go this route soon. Inexpensive, but safe?
Whatcha got?

I'm looking to do the same but after I fix the overheating issue.

A guy at work has one in his XJ.
The adapter was $90 & the steering wheel is free or $$$.
I'll ask him the next time I see him the exact model number.
It was off of Ebay.

I used an nrg. You can see it a few pages back on my build page (I think around October of last year)

No suede and nothing cheap from eBay. Those wheels will bend super easy. Suede gets destroyed fast by dirt and oils in your hands.

NRG makes the best quality hubs/quick releases I’ve seen. Zero play/slop. A ball bearing QR is better than a hex that welds on to the steering shaft

I have the hex and he is exactly right. The weld on part is steel and the QR is aluminum. It make them want to stick. I wish i had spent a little extra and got the ball bearing type.

Dave, you gonna let him get away with that? I drive a ZJ, or I would help you out

I was actually thinking of going that route.
Weld a steering wheel to the vise grips.
Done
