My last two Sat's in the mountains
« on: July 28, 2008, 11:01:08 PM »
Last Sat a group of guys from the shop that I own took a trip to NC/TN to play in the mountains.  We hit Deal's Gap (318 turns in 11 miles) until lunch (gets too busy with bikers).  Then we headed up and over the Cherohala Skyway (50 miles up and over a mountain reaching 5700ft at the top).  This Sat I went on the Mountainside ride.  Opposite ends of the driving spectrum and I still can't figure which one I like more.  I like these two pics because of the overlooks in the background.

Props for the Hyundai Jerm.  But BOOOO for going to BG.  Anyways, I used to have a Hyundai Scoupe that I won an autocross championship with a while back.  I miss battling it out with DILYSIDave at the auto-x's.  With kids and a business I don't have much time to get back out there and most of the time I would rather go on a Jeep ride.  The civic needs a LSD before it would do any good.  Here are some old pics.

You guys shouldnt be so far away! They are right down the road from my work and my friend went their to get his Tib tuned so I just followed. Got to say, not to impressed but I came at the end of drift season so they had a lot of work getting their Evo ready to sell and catching up on other cars. Only other place I have been is DynoLab that I organized for my car clubs meet a long time ago.

No just big boost.  The only replacement for displacement is BOOST.   ;D

I've built Honda motors that make 310whp PER LITER.  That's like making a 5.0 mustang motor make 1500whp.  And it was a daily driver with a/c.

Only things we can't do that a big block can is twist a chassis enough to break a back window and tow something.

P.S. any more pics of the Monte.  That's my fav body style of those.

Oh man I love the G-bodies!  My first car in high school was a black '84 Cutlass Supreme.  It had every option but the 442 package.  It had bucket seats with the center console, rally wheels, and the indicators mounted on the fenders that showed if your headlights/brights were on.  That car was gangsta and was proven by the people that tried to buy the car from me often.  I sold that car right when I started college and only saw it one time after that.  You guessed it, it was rollin' on a brand new shiny set of 20" chrome wires!
