RTI Ramp Discussion.
« on: August 28, 2008, 10:56:08 AM »
Any body know where I can find some dimensions?

I have seen 20 to 30 degree ramps. 20 being the most popular.

I dont think it really needs to be a certain height, but I dont know.

Inches Up the Ramp / Wheelbase x 1000 = Score on a 20 degree ramp.

I am pretty sure we will have one next season. My plan is to make a travel RTI ramp. Basically build this on a axle and hitch. Then stand it up where we camp.

I dont think I want to have to take the tires off  every time though. I think I will do something a little different.

I have to go by there this afternoon. Maybe I will talk then.

Dana 35 might be a little heavy. I am going for lighter. I will take any 2x2 square tubing, if any one wants to donate.

You can get 2x2 for cheap.  I got a 24' stick for 75 and it is .250 wall.

Nice bare bones approach.  You just need a trailer solid axle.  Allsouth can weld it up too.  I have another fab shop but they're slammed right now.  Damn bad economy.  ;D

I can weld it up too. I just need to finish my design, get some steel and get started. I have a 20' x 1' piece of diamond plate that I am going to use for the top. That is kind of what inspired the build.

What do you plan to do with this thing? Charge for ramp testing at the casa?
