How long between oil changes?

NO, not miles, don't need a 3k, 4500, 6k debate here. My thing is, I don't drive the Jeep much, at all, and normally I don’t change oil for 4500 miles or more depending on how I have been driving and yes I do use Synthetic.

So is there a certain time frame (months) that I should follow as well? I changed mine back in August sometime and have only put about 2k miles on the Jeep and that includes over 600 miles to Mississippi, couple of trips to the parents side of town at 50+ miles round trip, and a trip to River Rock at another 250 miles. With winter approaching there will be less mountain bike trips, less off road trips and our office will be moving to about a mile from my apartment so I will walk or ride the bike.

I do every 3 months or 5000 miles.

My dad has driven a 88-98 body style Chevy Silverado for the last 15 years or so.  He has owned 3 over that time period I believe and he drives a lot for work.  Like, 60,000 miles per year a lot.  He isn't the biggest car maintenance guy so he always said, "I change my oil every 20,000 miles whether it needs it or not".  Crazy huh?

Well if you were to go somewhere most places say do it every 3,000 or 3 months. I change my oil in everything I own ever 4 months. To me 1 or 2 months is not that big so its your choice.I would change it now its the long trips in the summer that breaks the oil down. My mileage on the car I drive to work is usually 4-5000 at the time I change my oil. When I change it in the motorcycle it only has 1500. I dont get to ride it a lot but I still change it, to keep it on with the others.

3-5000, unless I wheel alot and have been in alot of dusty areas. Then I change it more often.
