Bye bye jeep
« on: October 14, 2008, 05:28:43 PM »
On my way in to work Friday some A-hole slammed into the back of the car behind me doing about 60-70mph without ever hitting the brakes.  Looks like my jeep is going to be totaled.  The woman in the car behind me passed out and went into shock on the scene.  I found out later that she was OK just bruised from head to toe.  My back and neck still hurt a little.  I am probably going to go get checked out tomorrow.  I think the trailer hitch caught the brunt of the impact, the whole back hatch area is bent down about 5 degress from the impact.  It scared the crap out of me!  I am glad to be mostly OK though.

It's strange that I drove it for 5 years, did countless hours of work on it, and now, suddenly it's gone.  So many unfinished projects on it...

just remember, the Jeep can be replace (sorta) but you cant.

Looks like it bent it up on the back pretty bad and wouldnt surprise me if it gets totalled out. See what it could cost to buy back and salvage value and sell what you can and scrap the rest of it.

And let me know if you want to buy a used Rubi  ;D

Damn Seth, looks like a pretty hard hit. I'm sure the guy was just aiming for the lady's Obama sticker. Too bad you got collected up in it.

From the looks of it, I would say it looks totaled. Get yourself checked out. They say it always hurts worse the next day.

It does look good sitting on that flatbed.  {toast}

Man, that sucks Seth. One less nice WJ on the road. What are the plans? Trail Rig, part it out, another Jeep? Grand Cherokee?

Well, atleast you are ok. Live to wheel another day! Well, for sure see what they want to buy it back cause that baby is totaled. I am sure the frame is bent on that! I would start putting together a wicked trail beast out of it. ;D Part it out and buy another one, used, then take the rest of the insurance $ and build it right! Use this to your advantage!
I've grown tired of this.
