How do I set up dual monitors? I would LOVE to have them for sake of papers that Megan and I both have to write for school. They have some flat screens selling cheap at Circuit City sooo HOW DO YOU DO IT? I can't find crap as far as what cord is use or any of that.

If it helps, I have a Dell Inspiron 1720 Laptop with Windows Vista and its pretty well loaded (cost a little over $2k when I bought it for school summer of 07'). So what do I need? What should I check for on my computer? I found this "how to" for Vista sooo what else? What cord?

Xp an Vista will do it.  First, you need a video adapter that handles 2 monitors.

When you say dual monitors do you mean your laptop plus the monitor you will buy?

If so a VGA cable will work.  Depending on the monitor and the laptop you may be able to use HDMI (better, digital connection) but most laptops (yours may) and most cheaper monitors do not have that capablity.

Your laptop should be able to do it out of the box. Just plug it in, then right click on your background > properties > settings > click on monitor two and check "extend desktop onto this monitor".

yeah the monitor should come with the VGA cable and you just plug it in and do exactly what jimmy said

Meant to attach the pic... : Works real nice for graphics so you can put your tool pallets and itunes on the right and lots of working space on the big screen.
