Help me pick out a new camera!

Ok, my camera recently broke on a trip to Kansas City so its time for a new one. I had an Olympus FE-140 and was pretty happy with it so I'm looking to getting another Olympus. I've pretty much narrowed it down to 2 cameras: The FE-370 and the Stylus 840.

Both have 8 megapixels, 5x optical zoom, and 2.7" screens. All of this is better then my old camera which has been my baseline since it had 6 megapixles, 3x optical zoom, and a 2.5" screen. Another reason that I am wanting to stick with Olympus is because the software is similar and they all use XD memory cards (which I already have and most other cameras don't include).

So, what do ya'll think? Any particular reason for one over the other? Is there another camera out there that I should look at? They cost about the same from Amazon, is there another place to buy that will be cheaper?

I have an olympus as well. It is the weather proof one and love it. Cameras are so cheap now. >

I have the same one Krawler has. It rocks and is shockproof. I carry it on mission with me here. Its all self contained. I even rode waterslides in the Bahamas with it in hand. For the price and capabilibities, it rocks.

Well, I just bought the Stylus 840. I looked at the water proof one ya'll mentioned and although it had more megapixels, it had a shorter zoom and smaller screen and was $70 more.

I refuse to buy ANY sony products. I bought a brand new dvd camera from them when they first came out a few years back, lost 2 vacations due to the thing not finalizing the disks and such. I did not buy the "all inclusive" warranty from bestbuy so I decided to go to sony. They basically told me, sorry. I had it for a bit over a year. HORSESH--!! So, I don't like Sony stuff! > >

I refuse to ever purchase Sony products solely because they use proprietary memory cards. Memory cards are dirt cheap now, but memory sticks are still twice as much as SD cards!
