8.8 rearend out of a 91 F-150 2wd. has 3.08 gears. 130k on rear end. no noises or vibrations ...$75...

he said it was in good shape. what would i have to do to it to put it under my jeep yj?
im going to put 4.56 gears and an aussie in it if i buy it.

does this sound like a good deal?

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure you'll have to strip down the brackets and weld on custon ones to make it fit your Jeep.

is your axle complete from drum to drum? i dont exactly want a full width but for $75 or $50 i think i could deal with it

It's gonna wider than your front axle. You can find them from explorers for just a little bit more.

By the way, Andrews Auto Salvage in Griffin has, I'd say, more than 100 rear ends at their place. I picked up a tranny their today and just walking by noticed 5-6  14 bolts, a couple 60s, and a ton of 8.8s ...

I got mine from under a 01 Mountaineer. 3.73, disk brakes, 31 spline, limited slip for $180. That was from somebody who picked it up from a salvage yard to resale it and make money off of it. Do some looking and you will find a deal. These axles are everywhere.

Here's a fairly good deal if you were planning on regearing anyways. Looks like it has your name on it actually. 4.56s and all...

I would by what matches your front unless you plan on going full width in the front also.

All I did was search for a 99 For Explorer rear end with 3.73s... you got em all day for $100 with 3.73s. What's you're current ratio? 4.10s are just as common.
